Freestone Rivers of the Wind River Range
The Green River and New Fork River are two distinct freestone rivers originating in the Wind River Range. The New Fork eventually joins the Green, but each offers its own character and fishing experience in the open country surrounding Pinedale, Wyoming.

The Green River offers broad riffles, runs, bends, and undercut banks, while the New Fork winds through meadows, ranchland, and sagebrush country before reaching its confluence with the Green. Changing flows and seasonal conditions determine which river and section will provide the best opportunity on any given day.

Guiding the Green River and New Fork throughout the season builds an understanding of how each fishery responds to changing flows, which stretches offer the best conditions, and which presentation gives an angler the strongest opportunity that day.

Spring, Summer & Fall Timing
The Green River's primary fishing windows run from May through July and again in September. Conditions on the New Fork follow their own seasonal rhythm, and the best choice between the two depends on runoff, flows, water temperature, and current fishing conditions.
